Mariska Casey

I am energetic individual with a passion for research, banking and financial & investment management. I am currently a senior lecturer at the department of accountancy of the University of Johannesburg where I lecture financial management to second and third year undergraduate students. I am also involved in supervising masters degree dissertations for the MCom (International Accountancy) qualification.

I enjoy being involved in audit quality reviews and I had the opportunity to be involved in the following ISQC 1 reviews:
•Eskom & Transnet (on behalf of SNG)
•Firm and audit reviews on behalf of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Namibia and the Zimbabwean Public Accountants and Auditors Board
•Pre-issuance reviewer for the Auditor-General

I am also privileged to be a SAICA training officer reviewer and I enjoy visiting various chartered accountancy training offices throughout South Africa.
