Marshall Munetsi

Small-town boy Marshall Munetsi grew up in Mabvuku, Harare. After seeing Patrick Vieira conquer the midfield at Arsenal, Marshall was inspired to start playing football at the tender age of 6 years old. Munetsi joined a local football team in Harare called Ali Sundowns Juniors before he moved on to the Zimbabwean U17 National Team in 2012. He continued his ascent to the Zimbabwean First Division where he represented Blue Rangers FC.

With the help of Patridge Muskwe, Errol Dicks and John Comitis, it would take only two more stints at Friendly Academy and FC Cape Town before Munetsi fulfilled his dream of playing for the Mighty Buccaneers. Marshall now sees himself playing an integral part in growing Orlando Pirates to be the best club in Africa and is in hot pursuit of club titles. Outside of football, “Nyahle” enjoys going to church, and relaxing with family and friends watching movies or sports
