Martha Bedane Guraro
Martha Bedane Guraro is a human rights lawyer by profession with specific expertise in child rights policy advocacy at the Pan-African level, having worked closely with the African Union Commission for more than six years. She has over ten years of experience in legal/human rights advocacy and research. Currently, Martha serves as a policy and advocacy advisor to the African Union for World Vision International based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Martha Bedane Guraro has a master’s degree in Human Rights and Democratization in Africa from the University of Pretoria, South Africa and a bachelor’s degree from Haramaya University in Ethiopia. She also has experience in teaching courses such as human rights law and criminal law to undergraduate students. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Martha aims to join a governmental and/or intergovernmental organization to put her experience into practice with a focus on human rights and child rights in both Ethiopia and the continent of Africa as a whole.
