Mbangula Lameck Amugongo

Mbangula Lameck Amugongo has over five years of experience in computer science and innovation. He is currently employed as a Business Intelligence Analyst at Telecom Namibia, providing the much-needed analytics to support and improve business decision making. Since 2013, Mbangula has been heading the local Google Developers Group (GDG) Windhoek, organizing technology oriented talks, Hackathons, Tech Seminars and training sessions to encourage knowledge sharing and networking in Namibia. He holds three degrees in the following fields: B.IT in Software Engineering, BSc (Hon) Computer Science ‘Cum Laude,’ and MSc in Computer Science. At the age of 23, Mbangula was selected as one of the 100 Brightest Young Minds and was also awarded the Youth Innovator Award by the National Commission on Research, Science & Technology. At 24, Mbangula Lameck Amugongo is currently enrolled for a PhD in Computer Science.Mbangula is highly motivated and diligent individual with a strong passion and determination to succeed always despite the odds. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Mbangula plans to impart the gained skills and knowledge to the youth, empowering others to code and equipping them with skills to create solutions that make a difference in their communities.
