Mehreen Banon Rughony

Mehreen Banon Rughony has been involved for over eight years in community services, ranging from alleviation of poverty to youth development. She is the founder of a youth NGO named Rays of Hope, which aims at promoting young leaders. Being a female leader in her community, Mehreen Banon Rughony is employed as Program Officer at the National Women’s Council, which has a mandate to empower girls and women at the national level. With a degree in Social Work and a master’s in Development Studies from the University of Mauritius, Mehreen is committed to fighting against social injustices by creating a community of young leaders.
