Mercyline Nafula Lubia

Mercyline Nafula Lubia is a State Counsel in the Office of the Attorney General with three years’ experience in employment and labor relations, and insurance and commercial law. Mercyline Nafula Lubia is currently deployed to the Business Registration Service, a state corporation that registers and regulates businesses in Kenya. Her duties include the registration of companies, and advising on and participating in the formulation of business policies, rules, and regulations in Kenya. She is a member of the Law Society of Kenya, and Ethics and Practice Standards Committee, where she is tasked with enforcing ethics and practice standards in the legal profession. Ms. Lubia is studying for her Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration and holds an LLB degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. She also has a postgraduate diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law. She is motivated by the desire to eliminate corruption and ensure efficient service delivery in the Kenya public sector. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Ms. Lubia plans to engage more actively in the formulation and implementation of policies and laws that promote transparency and efficient service delivery to Kenyan citizens.
