Mioraniaina Johane Rakotondrasoarivelo
Mioraniaina Johane Rakotondrasoarivelo has over six years of experience in the community development and education sectors. Currently, she is the vice-president of GAZELA Madagascar, a foundation dedicated to children’s rights and youth empowerment in the rural community of Itaosy. She helps young people find decent employment and provides disadvantaged children with access to free education. Mioraniaina aims to reduce cases of juvenile delinquency and hopes that Itaosy will become a pilot city for security and social justice. Mioraniaina Johane Rakotondrasoarivelo holds a master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from the Catholic University of Madagascar, where she focused on sustainable development related to social and gender issues. She recently launched a mobile library for street-children living in her hometown and plans to establish the first digital library for her NGO to strengthen education and basic knowledge of technology. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Mioraniaina intends to expand her organization’s activities and build an office. Stayed in Africa.
