Modjadji Alidia Seabi

Ms Modjadji Alidia Seabi was appointed deputy director-general: women empowerment and gender equality in May 2012. Ms Seabi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education, majoring in Education and Geography and a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Geography from the University of the North as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from Milpark Business School.

She joined the Office of the Public Service Commission in 2008 as a director: specialist researcher. In 2010, she was promoted to chief director at the National Department of Tourism where she was responsible for strategy formulation policy and strategy implementation analysis, the monitoring and evaluation of departmental projects offered to external stakeholders, intergovernmental relations concerning national policies, strategies and programmes run by private sector, local and provincial government entities. In her current position, she is responsible for promoting capacity development programmes and mainstream women’s issues, as well as gender equality considerat ions, in government programmes.
