He is a 40-year-old man, a brother, a son, a husband and a father to 3 beautiful children who spent most of his childhood with an under-privileged Township called Orange Farm in the South of Johannesburg and was raised by a single parent, his late Mother.

Like many other young people who grew up under the conditions that he experienced, hope and success were something that was never envisioned for him, especially coming from a single-mothered family and raised by a domestic worker.

He worked very hard with the aim to change many things that were seen to be normal in my family like:

• Being the first child to complete matric in the history of my entire family

• Being the first child from my mother to work in a corporate, professional environment like banking and broadcasting industries

• Being the first child from his late mother to own companies

• Being the first child in his family to ever be in the aeroplane and go study abroad

Growing up he never allowed his situation and surroundings that he grew under to dictate how his future will look like. He grew a thick skin and learnt to be independent very early in his childhood. he helped his mother to look after his siblings even though he was a second born. He learnt entrepreneur skills while he was still in high school by selling various products at school during breaks, etc.

Above everything else, what he learnt in his life, was the principle of caring for others, hence his passion for COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT.

He has made means through my companies and skills to always strive and give back to his community one way or the other…be it by creating job opportunities or organising programs and projects that will help him impart knowledge to young people.

After completing his matric in 2002, he joined the local Orange Farm Police Station as a volunteer in programmes and projects aimed at fighting crime in the community. He was selected as a coordinator for the Orange Farm SAPS Youth Desk.

In 2004, he got an opportunity to participate under Letsema Learnership offered through BankSeta where he worked at ABSA Bank as a Teller for a year.

He then proceeded to join the entertainment industry (filmmaking) in 2005 without a single experience or qualification related to the profession, but with pure talent, passion and a creative mind and worked as a trainee scriptwriter for Buzwale Productions a company that produced Emzini Wezinsizwa. He further worked on various productions that played/aired on SABC due to being part of the SEDIBA Masters Course in Script Writing & Editing.

Through his passion and creativity for storytelling, he was then employed and joined the SABC as a Commissioning Intern under the Content HUB DRAMA in 2007.

Late in 2007 he then decided to register his first company, Young Minds Productions, which produced compelling productions such as “Tumelo – Short film”, “Love 4 The Box Shape – Documentary” & “Soweto Drift – Feature Film”, which built his confidence and drive to want to achieve more in life and he has since worked and consulted on many local & international film productions to date. Currently, he owns three companies: Soweto Drift Academy (Pty) Ltd, Kasi Road Safety NPC & Orange Farm Spin City NPC.

He has also been part of various boards, with the NATIONAL YOUTH ROAD SAFETY COUNCIL being the major structure that he served on as a board member advising the Minister of Transport on matters affecting young road users across the country.

Through his organization, Kasi Road Safety NPC, he has managed to influence policy change by the government under the Department of Transport to include young people in all programmes and decision-making discussions that affect them. Through KRS they have also developed and created programmes that had trained youth about the importance of road safety and also awarded 100s of youth with Driving Skills, Learner’s & Driver’s Licenses for free through partnerships that they had formed with some of Department of Transport agencies such as Road Accident Fund (RAF), Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) and Road Traffic and Infringement Agency (RTIA)

He has also managed to influence the Motorsport South Africa to recognize, sanction and support Car Spinning/Drifting from the townships as a formal sporting code. He has played a major role in shaping the current existing framework for the SAPS Youth Desk programme, which is stationed at various Local Police Stations.

Through his work and passion, which has always been about influencing my peers and the youth to do better in their lives, he was fortunate to be awarded a few prestigious accolades such as

1. Premier Youth Service, Excellence Awards 2016 – Sports & Recreation Award

2. Delft Road Safety Course 2016, Masters Certificate – Selected by former Minister of Transport, Ms. Dipuo Peters

3. National Youth Road Safety Council Member 2016/18

4. Associate Member for Car Spinning 2015/16/17 – Motorsport South Africa
