Mohammed Hassan
Mohammed Hassan, is the Chairman of National Bank of Kenya and a leading advisor on several energy sector transactions. He worked at Dyer and Blair Investment Bank for 14 years (1996-2010) and rose to become the Managing Director in 2007. He initiated and executed some of the largest deals in Sub Sahara Africa including the Safaricom IPO that raised over USD 700 million and the acquisition of the leading stake in Equity Bank by Helios Partners worth USD 170 million. He also led over 30 major transactions in the past 10 years and supervised more deals than anyone in East Africa.
Mohammed Hassan is a member of the Board of Trustees for Northern Kenya Education Trust; Member of the Board of Trustees of the Kenya Olympic Committee; and Member of the National Steering Committee of NEPAD, Kenya. NEPAD is an African Union agenda to improve political governance in member countries.
He is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) charter since 2006 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi and M.sc in Finance from the University of Strathclyde.
