Mr. Japheth Anavila Magomere

Mr. Japheth Anavila Magomere aged 65, has been a member of the Board since 1988 and is the Director representing Nairobi Region, Private Sector based societies. He has been the Chairman of CIC Insurance Group Limited since 2004. He has been a Delegate of Co-op Holdings Co-operative Society (the anchor shareholder of Co-operative Bank) since 1986 and is a Member of the Institute of Directors of Kenya. He serves as the Vice Chairman of Co-operative Alliance of Kenya. Honorable Secretary Maisha Bora Sacco since 1984, a Council member of East African Farmers Federation since 2008, the current Chairman of the National Council for Ushirika Day Celebrations, a board member of the International Co-operative Alliance (“ICA”), Africa Chapter and a Board Member of several secondary schools. He was honored with the Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya (“OGW”) in 2009.
