Ms Nolwazi Gasa

Ms Nolwazi Gasa was appointed to her current position in August 2012. She holds a BA (Hons) degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of KwaZulu- Natal. Ms Gasa has also completed postgraduate qualifications in municipal finance from the University of Johannesburg. She joined the Department of Performance Monitoring and Evaluation in November 2010 as an outcome facilitator responsible for monitoring and evaluating performance towards the attainment of the outcome: “A long and healthy life for all South Africans”.

She was previously a health specialist at the Development Bank of Southern Africa, and a manager for the Advisory Unit of the Bank.

Ms Gasa’s professional career includes working for the Centre for the Study of AIDS at the University of Pretoria, a joint appointment by the Medical Research Council and the University of KwaZulu-Natal, the KwaZulu- Natal Department of Health and the Centre for the Study of Violence.
