Mwayi Salome Kampesi
Mwayi Kampesi has over five years’ experience as a social entrepreneur. Currently, Mwayi is the CEO and founder of In-House Interiors and In-House Katundu, which manufacture interior décor and green interior accessories using environmentally friendly raw materials. She believes in empowering women and as such, employees eighteen women, equipping them with skills to produce décor accessories. Mwayi was featured in Forbes Magazine as one of Forbes Africa’s 30 under 30. She is also a director for the Youth Arise Network, a social enterprise working to engage youth in creating job opportunities in the private sector. Additionally, she mentors girls and to encourages them to believe in their dreams, ambitions, and goals. Mwayi holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. She is driven by her commitment to reducing poverty by creating job opportunities. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she will to continue mentoring and engaging youth in entrepreneurship skills and opportunities, helping them solve socioeconomic problems, such as poverty.
