Natasha Wacera Kimani has over four years’ experience in implementing Kenya’s constitution and in developing and reviewing national policies, legislation, and administrative procedures. Natasha Wacera Kimani is a senior legal researcher at the Kenya Law Reform Commission, embedded by the International Development Law Organization (IDLO). She focuses on developing national policies, legislation, and programs that implement the constitution with a specific focus on peace and security, natural resource management, and electoral laws and systems. She has successfully advocated for the inclusion of women in peacebuilding processes and initiatives, and has done extensive research on gender, peace and security, and countering violent extremism in Kenya. A lawyer by profession and a DAAD Scholar, Natasha holds a master’s degree in Public Economics, Law, and Politics from Leuphana University in Germany. Upon completion of the Fellowship, Natasha plans to continue working on implementing the constitution and entrenching constitutionalism in Kenya.
