Nebo Legoabe
Nebo Legoabe was appointed to her current position in April 2008 after joining the GCIS eight years earlier as director: Liaison for Gauteng, North West and Limpopo in South Africa. She holds a degree in library and Information Science from the University of Fort Hare, and BBibl (Hons) (cum laude) and MBibl degrees from the University of Pretoria. She has also completed a senior management programme at the University of Pretoria. Ms Legoabe’s qualifications include certificates in Community Development through Information, Germany, and an advanced leadership programme at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
In August 2002 she was appointed chief director: Provincial and Local Liaison at GCIS. Nebo Legoabe started her career as a librarian at the Mamelodi campus of Vista University. Between 1993 and 2000, Ms Legoabe worked at the CSIR as project leader of community-based information services and as a manager of local economic development and provincialisation. She has also worked as a part-time lecturer at the University of Pretoria.
