Neil A. Chapman was born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, Neil A. Chapman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Surrey in 1984. Upon graduating, he joined Esso Chemical Company in 1984 at the Fawley Refinery in the United Kingdom. He stayed in Africa.
