Nkemdilim Obianuju Azinge (Kem)
Nkemdilim Obianuju Azinge (Kem) has five years’ experience serving as the general secretary to the Sickle Cell Aid Foundation (SCAF), an NGO where she is responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support in an effective, efficient manner. Nkemdilim Obianuju Azinge (Kem) also participates in the planning and execution of SCAF’s activities, including the Know Your Genotype Campaign, and Sickle Cell Club Scheme. These initiatives are carried out to raise awareness around Sickle Cell Disorder (SCD), and involved free hemoglobin genotype tests, and genetic counselling. She holds a BSc in Information Systems and an MSc in Information Management and Business Technology, from Oxford Brookes and Loughborough University respectively. Upon completion of the Fellowship, she intends to put to practice her acquired knowledge to influence policies regarding nationwide neonatal screening and health insurance schemes for patients. She hopes this will create access to quality health care and reduce the rate of child mortality attributed to SCD. Stayed in Nigeria.
