Nozipho Makhoba
Nozipho is a chartered accountant by profession and has over 18 years working experience spanning across financial management, external audit, property investment and corporate finance. She is currently Acting Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer: STANLIB Fahari I-REIT having joined STANLIB Kenya Limited in January 2017. Prior to this, Nozipho worked for the Liberty Group (South Africa) from 2012 in various areas of the business including Liberty Properties and Group Corporate Finance where she was instrumental in the Group’s mergers and acquisition transactions related to property.
Prior to joining the Liberty Group, Nozipho spent six years in the audit profession where she gained South African and UK audit experience in different sectors including retail, manufacturing and financial services. This was followed by five years working experience with the largest asset manager in Africa – the Public Investment Corporation where she fulfilled the role of Finance and Operations Manager in the Property Investment Division.
Nozipho has held non-executive director roles for various property investments and management companies including Pareto Limited, CBS Property Portfolio Limited, African Capital Limited (where she was also the chairman of the Audit Committee) and JHI Retail (Pty) Limited. She was also a board member of the Johannesburg Development Agency (JDA) and the Metropolitan Trading Company (MTC) where she also chaired the Audit Committee. Nozipho holds a B.Com (Accounting) degree and a Post-graduate Diploma in Accounting, both from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. She is a registered Chartered Accountant with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
