Nthabiseng Motete
Nthabiseng Motete is deputy directorgeneral: forestry and natural resources. She holds a diploma in Science Education and a BSc in Biology and Education, both from the University of Lesotho. She has a MSc in Plant Ecophysiology and a PhD in Plant Ecophysiology both from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (former University of Natal).
Nthabiseng Motete was deputy director-general for green economy at the Mpumalanga Provincial Department Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (DEDET). Previously she served as deputy director-general for the Heritage, Greening Mpumalanga and Tourism Flagship programme in the Office of the Premier.
The programme was subsequently transferred to DEDET. She was the acting chief executive officer for the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA), which is a public entity under the DEDET. As acting CEO for MTPA, Dr Motete ensured that the MTPA obtained an unqualified audit for 2011/2012.
