Ntombifuthi Zikalala – Mvelase
Ntombifuthi Zikalala – Mvelase is a non-executive director of the Board of Airports Company South Africa and was appointed in September 2018. She is also a member of the Board’s Audit and Risk Committee, a member of the Board Investment Committee and a member of the Remuneration and Nominations Committee.
Ntombifuthi Zikalala – Mvelase has experience in legal practice, mineral resources regulation, diamond trading, mineral policy development, gender advocacy and business management.
She is a renowned women’s rights and gender activist, has conducted research into the criminal justice system and directed the implementation of a women’s rights programme as KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Manager for the Commission on Gender Equality.
She joined the Department of Mineral Resources (Minerals and Energy) as Deputy Director in 2001 as a Deputy Director-General: Mineral Policy and Investment Promotion.
In 2008 she was appointed as the Acting CEO for the State Diamond Trader and was subsequently appointed as the CEO.
Ntombifuthi Zikalala – Mvelase holds a B.Proc and LLB and is an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
