Oluwaseun Ruth Ishola
Oluwaseun Ruth Ishola has over seven years’ experience conducting research and development projects in Nigeria. Currently, she is a research officer at the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi, an institution which promotes industrialization in Nigeria by utilizing locally available industrial raw materials to develop and upgrade indigenous processes to transform the scale of businesses. Oluwaseun Ruth Ishola has led and worked in various multidisciplinary research teams, focusing on adding value to underutilized and locally available agricultural raw materials for food and non-food utilization. She created value chain systems that promoted economic inclusion of marginalized groups, such as unemployed youth and women. She has a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Ibadan. She acquired regional experience managing issues related to nutrition and child survival under the young professional internship program of the West African Health Organization. In 2017, she was nominated as one of the top thirty innovators in North and West Africa in gender in agribusiness investments in Africa by the African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD). Upon completion of Mandela Washington Fellowship, Oluwaseun’s vision is to have her research findings influence public sector policies addressing malnutrition in Nigeria and Africa at large.
