Oumou Brahim Diallo
Oumou Brahim Diallo’s experience in management took off two years ago. After graduating with a master’s degree in Linguistics at the age of 21, Oumou decided to switch her career to human resources. She started out by working for the Ministry of Commerce Tourism and Industry as an assistant agent for the consumer protection officers. At the same time, she was completing a second master’s in human resources, which then led her to become employed by a major telecommunication company (Mattel). In this role, Oumou Brahim Diallo helped educate the company’s employees on their work rights such as payroll, clocking in, and overtime. In Mauritania there is limited knowledge of workers’ rights and therefore they are not widely respected. After completed the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Oumou intends to boost her capabilities in raising awareness of workers’ rights in local communities, especially among women and girls.(Africa)
