Peter Obasa

Peter Obasa became the Site Director from September 2016, following the approved sale of the drinks business (Lucozade and Ribena brands) to Suntory Foods and Beverage Nigeria

As part of his role, Peter will look after the GMS/Site manufacturing operations for the business, managing the business resources for the growth and sustainable delivery of the GSK Nigeria business goals.

He began his career in the early 2001 as a Production Pharmacist in Ranbaxy Nigeria, rising to the level of Production Manager in 6.5 years period, before moving to GSK in June of 2008, as Production Manager. He has served in different roles from Production Manager to Operations Manager (OTC/OHC), Business Development and Strategy Manager, and then Business Expansion Lead (East & West Africa).

Last previous role was the Africa 2020 Operations Support Lead for Africa, where he helped build the GSK framework for its strategic positioning  in Africa to reach 80% of the populace.

Operations management career spanning 16 years in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, in all oral dosage forms. Excellent  Knowledge of efficient design and delivery of manufacturing strategy, New product introduction (NPIs) from developmental  to commercialization, and Project Management of Product or facilities from start-up to operational efficiency

Peter holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from ABU, Zaria, an MBA (LAUTECH) and is a Lean Six Sigma Green belt.
