Pierre du Plessis
Cape based Pierre du Plessis comes from an art and design background. Pierre du Plessis is a popular speaker, appearing regularly at conferences, he has featured numerous times on TEDx, and at corporate events. He is also a regular on breakfast TV and radio. His talks leave audiences inspired, wide awake and equipped to create good work.
He reads like a maniac, but only when he is not online.
He has shown to critical acclaim at Fashion Week in the 2000s, created award winning campaigns as a stylist, and freelances as a creative director on experimental projects. He is also an artist, working with socio-political themes and the tension between absence and presence. He has also worked as brand curator for the SABS Design Institute, whilst running BE BRAVE, his company that specialises in getting teams to understand one another better.
Pierre has been labelled a flâneur – a wanderer of the city streets – an eternal observer. He is interested in the way the world is flowing, the movement of culture, the actions and reactions, creativity, and above all what it means to create memorable work.
His writing and talks explore what it means to create good work in our world today. What does good work looks like, feel like – and where does it come from.
The other half his background lies in philosophy and spirituality. He leads a contemplative community in the city of Cape Town South Africa and he is also a published author.
