Prof. Mashupye Herbert Maserumule
Maserumule is the Chief Editor of the Journal of Public Administration, Professor of Public Affairs and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Humanities at the Tshwane University of Technology. He holds a DLitt et Phil in Public Administration from the University of South Africa (UNISA), and has more than 100 publications to his name, which comprise articles in scholarly, professional and political journals, chapters in books and research papers in conference proceedings.
Maserumule supervises masters and doctoral students, and some have completed their qualifications successfully. He has presented more than 50 papers in national and international conferences. He undertook various strategic assignments for the country, which among others include being part of the team that reviewed a Single Public Service Bill for the Ministry of Public Service and Administration (DPSA). The Bill was subsequently promulgated into law. He did policy research on The Place of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in the Developmental State for the Presidential Review Committee on SOEs. He was part of the expert reference group for the Presidential Remuneration Review Committee(PRRC). He has coordinated the ministerial task team on the professionalisation of the public service and is currently a member of the National Planning Commission(NPC).
