Robert Weru Maingi
Robert Weru Maingi has over two years’ experience in the real estate sector, specifically the design of buildings. Robert Weru Maingi is passionate about bringing the imagined to life and seeing the positive effect it has on both users and admirers of the created buildings. Currently, Robert is a Graduate Architect working with Aspera Design, where, as a team leader, he focuses on design and creative conceptualization and supervision of construction of buildings. Robert holds a bachelor’s degree from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, where he focused on using space as a tool to restore the independence of dementia sufferers in Kenya.Robert is driven by a strong conviction that the architectural elements of space and form can be used to drive a paradigm of aspiration within the budding African youth and to spur interest from major international players to Africa so as to accelerate economic growth. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Robert plans to use his gained networks and skills as resources to anchor the role of architecture as a leading tool for business and economic prosperity not just for Kenya, but for Africa as a whole.
