Rosey Sekese
Rosey Sekese was appointed Director-General of the Department of Communications in June 2011. She holds a BSc in electrical engineering (Telecommunications) from the University of Cape Town and a diploma in advanced project management. She also has a Master’s in Business Administration from North-West University. Ms Sekese served in the Department of Communication as deputy director-general for Information and Communication Technology Infrastructure Development from 2006 to mid-2011.
In 2010 Rosey Sekese played an important role in the successful delivery of telecommunications and broadcasting services at the FIFA World CupTM tournament hosted by South Africa. Prior to 2006, Ms Sekese was the group manager for information communication technology at Denel, a senior business solution consultant at Telkom and the senior engineer for technology network service at the telecoms company. She started her career at Eskom as an engineerin- training and then served until 1998 as an engineer responsible for national telecommunications.
