Ruby Gill, Gems are hard to find and stumble upon but luckily South Africa has birthed an extremely special gem in the form of singer/songwriter Ruby Gill. Hailing from Pietermaritzburg, and now residing in Johannesburg, Ruby Gill has burst onto the music scene and brought her unique and stunning ability to write and perform original material in an absolutely beautiful way that’s very hard to come by.

The 19 year old songstress is a master on the piano, donning the skills that most seasoned muso’s have just mastered in their careers. Not only does she bring her angelic poise to the keys, she also performs on guitar bringing her musical ability to another level. Possessing one of the most original and beautiful voices in the country, Ruby Gill first released her own original material at the tender age of 14 in the form of ‘Breathing In C Minor’. To release an album at such a young age is an accomplishment in itself and her follow-up album ‘To Risk Our Hearts’ was released in late 2013.

After the release of ‘To Risk Our Hearts’, the first single and video for ‘Three Sixty Five’ trended on Youtube and other social media platforms within 24 hours of its release raising the profile of the artist to a noticeable level. Following the release of ‘Three Sixty Five’, ‘Underground’ was then released to rave reviews from music critics across South Africa cementing Ruby as one of the new artists to watch out for this year. The experience gained from being a session musician with many high-profile acts across the land has taught Ruby valuable lessons in becoming her own artist.

Establishing herself on the live circuit, Ruby Gill has been performing across the country to audiences who leave her shows in absolute awe of her raw energy and passion. The mind-blowing song writing ability has landed Ruby a high profile publishing deal as well.
