Rutendo Hlatshwayo
Rutendo Hlatshwayo was born in Harare, Zimbabwe where she completed her primary school and secondary school education. In 2004, Rutendo moved to Cape Town to commence studies at the Law Faculty of the University of Cape Town, and subsequently graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree in 2007. Rutendo Hlatshwayo was then awarded a scholarship to undertake a Master of Laws (LLM) degree at Cornell Law School in New York. Rutendo graduated from Cornell Law School in 2009 with an LLM that focused on international business law and antitrust law. Rutendo then proceeded to do a 6 month internship at the International Office of the Federal Trade Commission in Washington D.C.
In 2010, Rutendo moved back to South Africa and began her employment at one of Africa’s largest law firms, Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs Inc (ENS). Rutendo rose up the ranks as an Associate and Senior Associate in the Competition Law Department of ENS. After 6 years at ENS, Rutendo accepted the offer to be the Head of Legal at i-Pay Secure Payment.
