Saleem Mowzer
Saleem Mowzer was appointed as acting Director-General in 2012. Mowzer served the City of Cape Town for 13 years until 2005 as acting Mayor, Mayoral Committee Member for Trading Services and Ward 48 Councillor and held various strategic positions, including: Chairperson of the Executive Committee, the Budget Committee and the Finance Committee, as well as Director of the Cape Town International Convention Centre Company, Director of the Cape Town Central City Partnership and Chairperson of the Desmond Tutu Peace Centre Steering Committee.
Saleem Mowzer was appointed Chief Executive Officer of RED One (Pty) Ltd – South Africa’s first regional electricity distributor in 2005.
Mowzer served as a specialist advisor on strategy and policy at EDI Holdings after the closure of RED One in 2007.
