Samira Ousmane Mamoudou

Samira Ousmane Mamoudou is a young entrepreneur in the fashion and textile industry. She created her fashion house three years ago after working with international airlines as a sales agent. She designs modern colorful dresses using African materials. She is currently working on how to transform her country’s cotton into luxury-finished products, a project that will bring jobs to youth, especially young women. Passionate about women’s empowerment, Samira Ousmane Mamoudou launched a magazine that promotes Niger women and their businesses. It also creates an association that helps young women to develop their businesses, get access to quality education and improve their finances. Samira holds a bachelor’s degree in Airline Management from the Global Institute of Aviation, Accra. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Samira plans to set up a textile factory that transforms her country’s resources, and also work with women to empower girls through education and training.
