Serah Naneu Mayon

Serah Naneu Mayon has more than eight years of experience in health systems. Serah was the first woman in her community to train as a registered nurse. After her training, s he was able to persuade another woman in her c ommunity to be trained as a nurse. Due to her commitment, she was able to encourage two other women to join a medical school. Now, there are two female doctors and two female nurses from her community. Serah Naneu Mayon holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kenya Methodist University. Her focus is to see more girls from her community join local universities to become future caregivers and doctors. Dr iven by her passion and commitment to girls’ education, Serah is planning to create a medical training college in her community to provide opportunities for girls’ education. Upon completion of Mandela Washington Fellowship, Serah plans to continue advocating for girls’ education and to realize her dream of a creating medical training college. Stayed in Kenya.
