Shamsa Hassan Sheikh
Shamsa Hassan has two years’ experience working and volunteering in Wajir county, Kenya. She is a member of the Wajir county land management board, where she is tasked with the management and administration of public land, including alternative dispute resolution of land-related conflicts between individuals, as well as inter-clan land/resource-based conflicts. Shamsa Hassan Sheikh has a degree in Law as well as various certificates relating to governance in arid/semi-arid areas, climate change, and disaster risk management and resilience. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, she intends to use the skills gained to provide better services to the county government and to train her colleagues on the best practices.
