Born 23 August, 1964
– Shinya Ishizuka graduated from Waseda University, Japan with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1988.
– He joined ITOCHU Corporation in April 1988.
– Over the years, Shinya’s career has been forged in sales, marketing, investment, M&A and management in ITOCHU.
– He has held several positions, as a General Manager of Inorganic Chemicals Dept, General Manager of Basic Chemicals Dept, Director of subsidiary companies, Chief Regional Officer of ITOCHU India, General Manager of Johannesburg Branch and Deputy CEO for ITOCHU Corporation Africa bloc.
– In 1999, he obtained his Master of Science at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and MBA at MIT Sloan School.
– In April 2021, Shinya was promoted to a Junior Executive Officer, ITOCHU Corporation.
In April 2022, he acquired the title of CEO for ITOCHU Corporation Africa Bloc, being responsible for ITOCHU’s entire Africa bloc business, as well as the supervision of 5 liaison offices (Nairobi, Addis Ababa, Lagos, Accra and Abidjan) and one branch office (Johannesburg).
– ITOCHU Corporation Africa bloc, has several business pillars in Food (Cacao, Sesame, Coffee trade) including a subsidiary Dole Sierra Leone, a pineapple processing factory, Metals and Mining (Platreef Platinum project, Coal trade), Machinery (Isuzu and Mazda automobile trade), including a subsidiary Mazda South Africa, investment in Hitachi Construction Machinery , Energy and Chemicals ( Plastics and Chemicals trade), Life & Living (Woodchip trade), Textile (Organic cotton), etc.
