Sibusiso Mdhluli
Mr Sibusiso Mdhluli has a BSc in Physics and Chemistry from NorthWest University, a Hons in Astrophysics and Space Science from the University of Cape Town and is currently an MSc Student in Physical Science (Astrophysics) at the University of the Western Cape.
Mr Sibusiso Mdhluli is the director of a Non-Profit Company, Acornhoek Institute for Science and Technology (AIST) currently working on developing programs to help students/schools in rural areas improve in maths and Science as South Africa has been facing poor performance in these subjects. Secondly, they work on training unemployed youth in the rural areas in digitals skills training which has both been led by him.
The work he has done so far has benefited many students, most of them have been able to get scholarships to Universities and colleges and their digital program is currently making a great impact in exposing young people in Acornhoek by inspiring them to get into the technology space. Apart from working for the organisation, he is a dedicated mentor to many students focusing on helping them to pursue education and many students benefit on a daily basis from him.
As specified above Mr Sibusiso Mdhluli currently is the director of Acornhoek Institute for Science and Technology (AIST). Some of his achievements have been able to raise funds to make our projects a success.
Mr Sibusiso Mdhluli is one person who is passionate about students mostly in rural areas excelling in Science and Mathematics and getting involved in the technological space which is why he has led the formation of Acornhoek Institute for Science and Technology in 2020, based in Mpumalanga province which is currently working on addressing these issues.
