Simon Ngure

Engineer Simon Ngure is a versatile engineer with vast experience in the energy sector, management and stakeholder relations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, a diploma in Geothermal Technology, a diploma in Project Management, a diploma in Executive Coaching from the Academy of Executive Coaching. He is a Certified Energy Manager and a Registered Engineer. Simon Ngure is a member of the Institute of Engineers of Kenya, the Association of Energy Engineers of Atlanta, USA, and is the Vice-President of the Association of Energy Professionals of Eastern Africa.

Simon Ngure has 34 years’ experience in the power sector. He joined Kenya Power in September 1986. He was appointed as Regulatory and Corporate Affairs Director in 2008. He is responsible for drafting, negotiating and managing power purchase agreements (PPAs). He is also in charge of environmental and social licensing and management processes as well as maintenance of ISO Quality and Environmental System, Safety, Clean Development Mechanism and carbon credit sales and maximizing brand value through effective corporate affairs management.
