Simon Tuma-Waku
Deputy Managing Director Ruashi Mining
With more than 30 years in mining, Simon started his career in mining in South Africa with the JCI group in 1992, where he was seconded to the platinum division, which later became part of Anglo American Platinum Division.
After a period of 4 years at Bateman Equipment, from 1997 to 2001, He returned to DRC to run the Ministry of Mines and Hydrocabons, when Joseph Kabila became President.
End of 2002, Simon returned to the mining private sector, where he became successively, Executive Chairman of DCP, Executive Chairman of KCC, CEO of Congo Railways Solutions, Chairman of Mongbwalu Gold Mine, Deputy Managing Director of Tenke fungurume and finally Deputy Managing Director of Ruashi Mining.
On the financial side, He was board member of Access Bank and recently Board member and Chairman of Standard Bank DRC.
Simon holds a MSc in mining, a Diploma in Business Administration.
