Sipho M Pityana

Sipho is executive chairman of Izingwe Capital (Pty) Ltd as well as chairman of AngloGold Ashanti and Munich Reinsurance of Africa. He has previously served on the boards of AFROX, SPESCOM, Bytes Technology Group, Scaw Metals and Old Mutual Leadership Group. Sipho also previously worked as the executive director of Nedcor Investment Bank.

He was the first Director General of the Department of Labour in a democratic South Africa. As the Foreign Affairs Director General, he represented South Africa in various international forums including the UN, AU, Commonwealth and ILO. He was also a founding member of the governing body for the CCMA and convenor of the SA government delegation to NEDLAC.
