Solomon Mahinda

Solomon Mahinda is a seasoned communications and marketing expert with over 10 years experience. Solomon Mahinda has developed and implemented communications (internal and external) projects including cultural transformations, stakeholder engagement plans, crisis communications management, corporate and brand communications as well as introduction of new company vision across different sectors.

Before joining H+K in May 2015, Solomon was Vice President, Communications and Marketing, for Renaissance Capital & Renaissance Group. He was responsible for the Group’s Corporate/Public Affairs, Communications and Marketing functions across Africa. He also doubled up as Head of Corporate Affairs, Communications and Marketing for Tatu City Limited in Kenya and other six similar urban infrastructure projects under the Renaissance Group in Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, Congo and Zimbabwe.

He has internal communications experience in aligning company employees to strategic initiatives and operational policies. He has also initiated, integrated and re-designed Corporate Communications and Marketing departments including recruiting, developing new talent that advise and execute communications/marketing campaigns across a variety of businesses and sectors.
He has also designed and executed targeted public affairs strategies in various markets in Africa, Europe and the Middle East.

Solomon has a deep understanding of communication and Public Relations (PR) needs and an enviable wealth of agency and corporate experience in the region. He has worked at senior levels at Ogilvy Africa, H+K and Scanad PR where he was involved in developing and implementing Pan-African communications (internal and external) strategies, marketing, publicity, media and promotional campaigns for private and public sector clients including SEACOM and Airtel’s entry into Africa.

Solomon is a graduate of Communications and Marketing from Daystar University and holds a Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Management Information Systems from Strathmore University. He is currently undertaking his Master of Science (Msc) in Information Systems at Strathmore University. Stayed in Kenya.
