Sosthene Auguste Gregoire Guei

Sosthene Auguste Gregoire Guei has over 8 years of experience working in the education sector. He is a consultant, trainer in English, and Research Assistant for the project ‘Promoting Literacy Development in Children in Cocoa Communities in Cote d’Ivoire’ funded by Jacobs Foundation. This research addresses the effects of poverty on children’s ability to acquire literacy. Sosthene holds a Master’s degree in English from the University of Cocody-Abidjan, a three-year degree in Business Management and Administration, and is completing a Master’s degree in Sustainable Development with focus on ethics, governance and corporate social responsibility at CERAP – Research Center for Peace Actions. His master’s research thesis examines both children’s home and school environments, their interaction, and cumulative effect on learning with the goal of understanding how best to support the literacy outcomes for primary school children in rural areas. Sosthene Auguste Gregoire Guei has a keen interest in sustainable development issues, specifically in child development through quality education. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, he plans to work towards providing access to quality education and shape a sustainable future for millions of children living in rural areas in Cote d’Ivoire.
