Stefan Ludik has taken the music industry by storm. The release of his latest album “Burn This Town” (Sony Music) has music industry insiders and fans alike talking. “Burn This Town” boasts with 15 equally impressive tracks. The hip-hop and dance undertones layered with powerful guitar riffs have ensured the album to be appreciated and enjoyed by music lovers alike.
Stefan LudikStefan Ludik is no new comer to the entertainment industry. 2003 saw him represent his home country Namibia in Big Brother Africa where he won the hearts of millions. As one of the most popular house-mates, his eviction from the house launched him to stardom and ensured the start of a very successful acting and music career. A lead role in Franz Marx’s popular soapie Egoli – Place of Gold followed as well as the lead role in KykNet’s action series Transito.
The growing adoration he enjoys
Whilst in the midst of a successful acting career – Stefan shifted his focus to music. 2005 saw the release of his debut album “Liggroen Doringbome”, a mix of Afrikaans and English songs – to great reviews. The release was followed by “Vuur en Water” in 2007. The self-produced album also resulted in a Eurovision Music Video Award nomination – for the music video for the title track, and extensive airplay throughout Southern Africa.
With “Burn this Town” Stefan hopes to extend his popularity even further. The all English album features collaborations with hip-hop artists like Gal Level, Gazza and Fab and has ensured a successful cross-over into the multi-cultural societies that Southern Africa is known for. Songs like “Black Girl, White Boy”, “Keep It Real” and “Tear It Up” has proven to get audience feet stomping and arms waving.
Amidst a busy schedule, Stefan is also a proud ambassador for Team Namibia – an initiative aimed at raising awareness for Namibian products and companies in order to raise national pride, in addition to being the brand ambassador for Bank Windhoek’s Solo Project – an initiative aimed at educating the Namibian youth about finances and the importance of dreaming big. 200 Namibian schools currently benefit from this project. Olthaver & List Ltd (with its affiliate Namibian Breweries Ltd) has also contracted Stefan for similar motivational projects throughout their branches.
Due to his extensive social awareness work and busy schedule, Stefan was recently cited by the Sunday Times Newspaper as “Namibia’s foremost export product since Michelle McLean” whilst a recently published Informanté article (Namibia’s largest newspaper) claimed Stefan to be one of the 10 most influential people in Namibia – indeed an honour considering the rest of the honourees to be Michelle McLean (former Miss Universe), Frank Fredericks (Olympic Champion and former world record holder 200m) and Trevor Dodds (former USA PGA winner).
