Stephen Ogirima Ohize
Stephen Ogirima Ohize has over three years of experience in the public health sector, specifically focusing on breast and cervical cancer screening and prevention therapy. Currently, Stephen is the Project Coordinator for Raise Foundation, where he heads the Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention Program. He also serves as a member of the Niger State steering committee for the Saving One Million Lives Program. Stephen is focused on initiating, designing and implementing cancer control programs in Niger State. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Jos, Nigeria. Stephen Ogirima Ohize is driven by the desire to see a structured healthcare system with a long-term, self-sustainable cancer prevention program aimed at raising awareness, providing screening services with referral system in place, recalling clients at appropriate intervals, and having a good data management system. Upon completion of Mandela Washington Fellowship, Stephen plans to continue his work on creating a viable cancer control program for the region and the entire country.
