Susan Maingi

Susan Maingi holds the position of Director – Corporate Affairs, Communication & Sustainability for Bamburi Cement Ltd, since August 2012.

In this capacity, she is responsible for public affairs, communications both internal and external as well as driving the sustainability agenda. This includes oversight of Lafarge Eco System, the environmental arm of the Group whose biodiversity and ecosystems management has received International acclaim.

Her previous role within the Bamburi Cement Group was of Human Resources and Organization Director for Kenya and Uganda. In this role, she was instrumental in building the function to being a strategic business partner, and of note one of the key milestones was in 2008, where the Lafarge HR practice in East Africa was recognized by the Lafarge Global group for its resourcing strategy in regard to building capacity for the existing and capacity expansion projects Susan’s extensive functional experience, as well as her understanding of the broader East African regional context has placed her well in the business to drive the business agenda.

Her previous work experience has been with the leading advisory firm KPMG and management consulting firm TACK International. Susan Maingi holds a BA in Business Education and Sociology and is an alumni of Strathmore Business School Advanced Management Program and Women Directors Leadership Summit program.
