Tayo Oginni
Tayo Oginni graduated with an Upper Second Class Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Lagos in 1979.
Thereafter, Tayo Oginni joined Shell Petroleum and Development Company (SPDC) where he has had some twelve years of experience in Field and Project Engineering; five years in technical, operational and management-level HSE Management, including Auditing and Change Management; two years in Production Asset Management and Planning; eight years in Project Management as manager of projects, the last two projects being valued in excess of $3.5 billion. He has also had nine years’ experience in LNG Operations Management and Leadership.
Tayo’s first assignment in NLNG was as Start-Up Manager for Train 6 in 2007, an assignment which yielded a first as Train 6 achieved a record nine days from start-up to run down. He went back to Shell Global Solutions in The Netherlands in 2008 as Global Manager, Operations and Gas-GAME before returning to NLNG as Operations Manager in June 2009. In June 2015 he was appointed Production Assets Manager in NLNG and returned to Shell in January 2016 as Shareholder Representative for NLNG and West African Gas Pipeline Company. In May 2017, the NLNG Board approved his appointment as General Manager, Production.
Tayo is an alumnus of INSEAD Business School in France and has also attended an Executive Management Program at Wharton Business School.
Tayo Oginni is a Fellow of The Nigerian Society of Engineers and has delivered a number of professional papers at international conferences.
