Terry Behan
Terry is a design strategist specialising in emerging markets and currently works with a portfolio that includes projects in educational mobility, neuroscience, IoT (Internet of Things), global healthcare, financial access, city innovation and other digitally driven environments..
He has worked in over 20 markets across the globe and has a strong background in creativity, strategy and end to end design project delivery. He structures, deploys & leads design teams that deliver creative social & commercial solutions that address the challenges of our time.
He serves on the board of the SA design foundation as well as the Africa brand council and is an Aspen Global Leadership Fellow. Terry guest lectures at a number of universities across the globe. He has a BA in Brand leadership and an MSc in Strategic Design Management from Parsons in NYC.
His 2014 “Connect with the Continent” helped businesses to understand key consumer trends and social movements across the African continent. He also hosts a TV segment, that goes out to over 100 million people, that highlights design innovation and technology trends across emerging markets. His new book “Leapfrog – how design is accelerating social & economic growth in emerging markets” will be out in late 2018.
In his spare time he coach’s at the Hillbrow boxing gym in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Terry is a former advisory board member of the World Brand Congress (WBC), a global brand think tank representing 92 different countries.
