Thabo Sefali

Thabo Sefali

Thabo Sefali was appointed as chief information officer at the Department of Labour in April 2012.

He completed a course in Computer Programming at WS & L Training College in Kenilworth, Cape Town (South Africa), then joined financial services group Old Mutual where he worked for three years. Between 2000 and 2006 he made tremendous progress in his career after he joined retail group Woolworths as an analyst programmer and worked his way up from the position of processor analyst to that of IT process manager.

When he left Woolworths he changed tack and joined public sector.

Thabo Sefali worked as IT operations manager at the Department of Water Affairs until 2008 and then moved to the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform where worked as IT director until he joined the Department of Labour.
