Thandeka Ncube
Thandeka joined Lonmin in April 2017 having previously worked at Phembani where she was their Executive Head: Sustainability and Transformation responsible for advising Phembani partner companies in community development, management of their licences to operate in regulated industries and overall implementation of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE). She has extensive experience in dealing with the Department of Mineral Resources and the Department of Trade and Industry.
As part of her role at Phembani, Thandeka had the opportunity to sit on several Executive Committees, including Lonmin’s Executive Committee and she served as a Director on various Boards namely, Kangra Coal, Izimbiwa Coal, formerly Shanduka Coal – a coal company managed by Glencore South Africa and Phembani Coal Investments. Prior to joining Phembani, Thandeka worked for Standard Bank of South Africa in their Retail Bank, utilising her experience to design and provide banking solutions for the small, medium and micro enterprises. Thandeka holds a Bachelor of Arts Degrees (Social Sciences) from the City University of New York and a MBA from Henley Business School.
