Thashni Chetty

Director, Head of Mining & Metals , South Africa Turner & Townsend

Thashni is a director at Turner & Townsend – a global professional services firm operating in the real estate, infrastructure, and natural resources sectors. She is a member of the Turner & Townsend’s South African Board and Statutory Board.  She has engaged and advised local and global clients such as; Anglo American including De Beers, Rio Tinto, Ivan Plats and Royal Bafokeng to name a few.

She is a registered quantity surveyor with more than 13 years’ construction experience on projects across various sectors throughout Africa, the Americas, Australia, and Europe. She has an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science and a member of RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), SACQSP and ASAQS. Some of the major programmes she has been involved in Africa include; Infrastructure projects for communities and mines as well as mechanical, electrical, water and process plants.

She is the only African representative as part of the Chairman’s Group to shadow the executive board team for Turner & Townsend. She brings in a broad perspective and challenges the status quo at executive meetings. 

She was a semi- finalist at the 2020 Accenture Rising Star Awards which recognises, celebrates, and connects young talented people who have a capacity for achievement and success and who contribute in an inspirational manner to the future of the African continent.
