Themba Tshepo Madi
Themba Tshepo Madi is a private and investments equity executive at Ikhabe Capital Investments, with focus in infrastructure, agricultural, energy sectors but as of late they have also been involved infratech, fintec, agritec, meditech and insuretech investments and funding.
Themba comes from an entrepreneurial South African family, with his grandfather viz. Aaron Mzwakhe Madi having been accredited as the founder of Southern Africa’s first formalised Black Owners Taxi Association, viz Witwatersrand African Taxi Association (WATA). His father, viz A Z Madi also made significant impact on South African business having been involved in what was then, the first two examples of significant Black Empowerment deals with South African Breweries Limited (large bottle stores in townships) and Score Supermarkets Limited (fully sized shopping. Both these deals are deemed significant over 15 years of experience in the financial services arena, he has gained considerate experience in retail banking, corporate finance, asset-based finance and deal structuring, having worked for Wesbank Corporate, Rand Merchant Private Bank, Standard Bank and Imperial Bank.
This experience led to him being honoured as a finalist in the national “Amstel –
Salute to Success” campaign. Another accolade was a three page feature in the
10 Years of Democracy issue the national publication, Enterprise Magazine.
He was a founding member of Young Business for South Africa
(YBSA). This forum creates a platform where young South Africans get the
opportunity to interact and learn from the leaders of this country. He continues with
social involvement as an inaugural trustee of The Aggrey Klaaste Trust, Chairman of Ngalonde Institute amongst others. These initiatives have helped him establish a firm network across all industry in South Africa.
