Thembisa Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams

Ms Stella Tembisa Ndabeni-Abrahams is the  Minister of Communications of the Republic of South Africa with effect from 31 May 2019. She was Deputy Minister of Communications.

She is a member of the ANC Eastern Cape Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) and a Member of the ANC Eastern Cape Provincial Working Committee (PWC).

Ms Ndabeni-Abrahams is currently enrolled for a Masters in Telecommunications, Policy and Regulation Management at Wits University. She further holds a Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation Diploma in Telecommunications and Managements Systems, a Certificate in Telecommunications, Policy and Regulation Management (Wits University), an Advanced Certificate in Project Management (Rhodes University) and a Project Management Diploma (Cranefields College).

Deputy Minister Ndabeni-Abrahams has been a member of the following parliament committees: Prior to being an MP, Ms Ndabeni-Abrahams was a Project Manager for the Eastern Cape Socio-Economic Consultative Council from 2003 to 2009.

Portfolio Committee on Defence and Committee Whip from 2009 to 2011. Portfolio Committee on Communications and Committee Whip in 2011. Member of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Intelligence; and Member of the ANC Parliamentary Caucus Sub-Committee on Political Education.

She is a recipient of the Premier’s Award for her involvement in voluntary activities aimed at improving peoples’ lives.

Deputy Minister Ndabeni-Abrahams was previously the Deputy Minister of the then Department of Communications (now Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services) from 25 October 2011 until 25 May 2014.

Ms Stella Tembisa Ndabeni-Abrahams is the Deputy Minister of Communications of the Republic of South Africa; a position she has held from 26 May 2014 until 30 March 2017.
